- During July and August, the Alaska unemployment office asked about reasons for quitting, in order to determine eligibility for unemployment insurance.
- In August I sent a detailed email. They asked me to re-send it several times, and then to fax a copy.
- On August 9th they telephoned (Audio) and asked for more information about the specific reason I quit.
- On August 9th they then contacted the Detox supervisor twice (see below).
- On August 10th the patients were kicked out and Detox was closed. No notice had been given to anybody.
- The "nationwide nursing shortage" and "funding shortfalls" were blamed. (see nurse and cash pages)
- The $865,000 contract with the state was not finished, and no advance notice was given to the state that the Salvation Army was not going to finish the contract.
- It was October before the state arranged a new contract (with ANMC).
